Deleting your data
Grandsapp has no user accounts with an email address or a password. The data belongs to the family, and each phone and tablet in it is one of the family's devices. This is how you delete it in the Grandsapp for the family app, or by email.
Delete the whole family
- In the family app open Settings and tap Delete the family. Only the person who alone manages the family can do it; if someone else manages it too, first turn "Manages the family" off for that person in Family members.
- To confirm, type the family's name and tap Delete the family.
Everything is deleted: the board, photos, reminders, messages, the list, keys, members, devices and every stored file, usually within a minute. The phones are left without the family, and the tablet goes back to its pairing screen and deletes everything it had of the family. This cannot be undone.
Take your phone out of the family
In the app open Settings and tap Leave the family. The phone loses access at once, and the family's keys and stored content are deleted from it; on the server its notification subscriptions are deleted, and the links it made stop working. The phone's name and public key stay in the family's records while the family exists, as does what it sent, until the family removes it. If only you manage the family, first let someone else manage it too, or delete the whole family.
Remove a tablet or another phone
Whoever manages the family can remove a tablet (Settings → Tablet → Remove the tablet) or another member's phone (Settings → Family members → Remove from the family). The removed device loses access at once; a tablet deletes everything it had of the family and shows the pairing screen. The photos, reminders and board stay in the family.
Ask for deletion by email
If you can no longer get into the app, write to support@mygrands.app with the family's name and the name you have in it. Once we have checked that the request comes from the family, we delete the family as above and tell you, within one month at the latest.
What is left after deletion
- Server logs, with the family's identifier, the rounded forecast coordinates and the place-search words in request addresses: a few days, at most seven.
- Nothing of the content: no photos, no messages, no keys.
A family with no tablet ever paired and a single member, which nobody opens for 30 days, deletes itself 30 days after it was made.
